Description:

The course is OPITO Approved and is conducted in accordance with their training standards.  This course is designed to meet the Basic Safety Induction & Emergency Training requirements for the UK sector of Offshore Oil & Gas Exploration & Production.  Please check your requirements prior to booking.

During the 3 day BOSIET Course, learners will be provided with a range of knowledge and skills relevant to:

  • Safety Induction
  • Sea Survival
  • Helicopter Safety and Escape
  • Fire, Firefighting and Self Rescue

Certificates are issued to learners upon successful completion of course.  Certificates are valid for 4 years. 

Pre-Requisites:

  • Minimum age of 16 years

Medical Requirements:-

  • Possess a HSE UK Dive medical certificate
  • OR possess a ENG1 medical certificate
  • OR possess a valid, unexpired Oil and Gas (OGUK) offshore medical certificate and possess a certificate of fitness to undertake shallow water CA-EBS training issued by a registered OGUK examining doctor. Failure to hold this element will prevent you from completing an element of the course resulting in not being issued with a certificate.
  • OR possess a valid, unexpired offshore medical certificate issued by a body outside of the UK which is recognised as equivalent to the OGUK medical certificate of fitness for offshore work and possess a certificate of fitness to undertake shallow water CA-EBS training issued by a registered OGUK examining doctor. Failure to hold this element of the course resulting is not being issued with a certificate

Price includes 2 course lunch (hot or cold) / Refreshments throughout the course / Tuition fees / Certification fee / OPITO registration.

Course Venue:

Day 1 will be held at our Albert Dock facility in Hull (HU3 2BP).

Days 2 & 3 will be held at our Malmo Road facility in Hull (HU7 0YF).

Registration / Times:

Registration will open at 0800 hrs and will close at 0830 hrs. The course will finish at approximately 1700 hrs daily.

Photo ID:

You must bring government issued photographic identification on your first day (i.e. passport, driving licence, Discharge Book, Permanent Resident Card, U.S. military ID etc).  Vantage cards are no longer accepted as valid ID for OPITO Courses.

Fitness:

The course is physically demanding and includes a large amount of practical training and delegates are required to participate in all elements.  Learners will be asked to make and sign a declaration of good health and fitness at the time of registration.

PPE requirements:

Learners will be expected to bring the following items:

  • Day 1 : Working clothes, overalls, safety boots and wet weather gear (i.e. anorak etc).
  • Days 2 & 3 : Soap & towel, working clothes, overalls, safety boots, swim wear and clothing suitable to be worn under a survival suit (i.e. thin tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt etc).

Facilities include:

Free on-site parking at all sites / free Wi-Fi at all sites / Option to purchase breakfast sandwiches each morning (Malmo Road site only).

We can cater for any special dietary needs.  You will need to inform the bookings department prior to attending your course.
