Description:

This course STCW MCA Approved and is conducted in accordance with their training standards.
On completion of the course, participants will be competent to take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during and after launch, operate a survival craft engine, manage survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship. Learners will be able to use locating devices including communication and signalling apparatus and pyrotechnics and apply first aid to survivors.

Pre-Requisite:

Learners must be at least 18 years of age and must provide evidence of the following:

  • have approved seagoing service of not less than 6 months (MSN 1865, Section 1.3 applies)
  • be in possession of a Personal Survival Techniques certificate

  • meet the standard of competence required for certification

Important Information:

Please ensure copies of your pre-requisites are emailed through to karen.histon@hota.org no later than one week prior to course commencement. Failure to do so may result in being refused entry onto the course.

You must ALSO bring your original certificate(s) as required as per the pre-requisite section above along with your discharge book/ evidence of sea time on the first day of your course failure to do so will result in you being unable to undertake the training course.

 

 

Special Notes:

Learners or booking companies MUST ensure that one of the below forms of personal identification is available to be presented at course registration:

  • Passport
  • Discharge Book (or equivalent National document recording a person's sea service)
  • National I.D. Card
