Personal Data

Any personal details supplied will be used for the sole purpose of administration associated with the attended course(s).
For the offshore petroleum industry it will necessary to supply personal information to Cogent SSC, where it will be entered into a computerised register which will be available to employers, prospective employers and training providers to verify training records. At all times use of this data will be strictly in accordance with the principles laid down in the Data Protection Act, 1998.

Confirmation of course booking

Company bookings made verbally must be confirmed immediately in writing within 5 working days of the booking being made. If confirmation is not received in this time HOTA reserves the right to withdraw the booking. Any subsequent changes including name changes or cancellations made to the booking must also be confirmed in writing.

Payment

HOTA accepts all major credit/debit cards, cheques and cash. Cheques should be made payable to ‘HOTA’. Please note payment by credit/debit cards will be subject to an additional small handling charge.

Invoicing

Companies with a credit will be issued with an invoice after the course has been completed, payable within our credit terms of 30 days. Companies without credit will be issued with a pro-forma invoice when the booking is made and payment will need to be received prior to course commencement.

Cancellation fees

Cancellation 15 days or more ahead of the start date - full refund
Cancellation 8 to 14 days ahead of the start date - 50% of full fee retained
Cancellation 7 days or less ahead of the start date - full fee retained
City & Guilds courses only - 45 days or less - Registration Fee

Cancellation of courses

HOTA reserves the right to change any reservation if it appears that any course is under-subscribed or in the event of any unavoidable difficulty

Insurance

Companies should note their employees must be covered by their usual Employer’s and Public Liability policies for the duration of the HOTA Training Courses. HOTA does not accept any liability for loss or damage to any property of any course participant or any liability for personal injury or death that may occur during the course.

Health and Safety

All delegates are reminded that training courses are considered as “at work” in as far as legislation is concerned and that they are still subject to the general conditions of employment applied by their companies. They should conduct themselves during practical work with respect for the health and safety of themselves and others. Safety instruction from staff, tutors, consultants and demonstrators must be rigorously observed. Alcohol and/or drugs are totally prohibited.

Medical

HOTA reserves the right to refuse tuition or continued tuition to any participants on the grounds that they believe he/she is physically unfit or if his/her participation or continued participation would endanger the safety of others or the safety of course equipment. As part of the training involves communication in hazardous situations, it is essential that all participants can read, speak and understand English fluently.
